OILERS ASSIGN TUOHIMAA TO BARONS

The Edmonton Oilers have assigned goaltender Frans Tuohimaa to the AHL's Oklahoma City Barons, General Manager Craig MacTavish announced today. Tuohimaa joins the Barons from HPK Liiga in Finland.
Tuohimaa has played in 19 games for HPK Liiga with a 3.12 goals against average and .894 save percentage. He's also played five games for Sport Mestis with a 2.52 GAA and .925 save percentage.
Tuohimaa was selected in the seventh round (182nd overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Oilers. He signed a two-year entry level contract with Edmonton in spring 2013.
He spent the 2012-13 and 2011-12 seasons playing for Jokerit Helsinki in the SM-liiga. He played a total of 31 games and 1,929 minutes for Jokerit. He posted a record of 11-8-11 with a 2.45 goals against average and a .904 save percentage.
