BARONS SIGN SEAN ERICKSON TO PTO

The Oklahoma City Barons have signed Tulsa Oilers defenseman Sean Erickson to a PTO, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today.Erickson, 6-0, 175-pounder from Eden Prairie, Minn., is currently in his third professional season. He is tied for the Central Hockey League lead in points by a defenseman with 22 (5-17-22). For his career as a pro, he has appeared in 155 games (154 with the Tulsa Oilers) and recorded 76 points (27-49-76). He attended the Barons training camp prior to the 2010-11 season.
Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons with the University of Connecticut. In 121 games over those four seasons, he recorded 68 points (14-54-68). Before playing at the university level, he played three seasons at the junior level, recording 71 points (21-50-71) in 159 games.
The Barons are on the road for the remainder of the week. Tomorrow night, they skate in Cleveland against the Lake Erie Monsters at 6 p.m. (ct). Friday, they skate in Toronto against the Marlies at 6 p.m. (ct). The Barons wrap up their road trip with a Sunday afternoon game against the Hamilton Bulldogs at 2 p.m. (ct).
