OILERS RECALL RYAN O'MARRA FROM THE BARONS

The Edmonton Oilers recalled forward Ryan O’Marra the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

O’Marra, a 6-2, 220-pounder from Mississagua, Ontario is in his second season with the Barons.  He has played in 20 games this season, recording eight points (4-4-8) and serving 40 penalty minutes.  He has appeared in 24 NHL games, all with Edmonton, scoring six points (1-5-6).  This is his first call up to the Oilers this season.  He was originally a 1st round draft choice (15th overall) of the New York Islanders in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Barons currently have the best record in the AHL and the most wins among all professional hockey teams in North America.

Game action resumes at home this Friday against the San Antonio Rampage.  Faceoff is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.  The game can be heard on the flagship station of the Barons, 96.1 KXY.  Tickets start at $10 and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets including the Cox Convention Center box office.
