BARONS SIGN CHET PICKARD TO AHL CONTRACT

The Oklahoma City Barons have signed goaltender Chet Pickard to an American Hockey League contract, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today. Pickard is being loaned to the Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native, played for Djurgardens IF in Stockholm, Sweden during the 2012-13 season. He previously spent the 2011-12 season with the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones. He split time with the Cyclones and AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals during the 2010-11 season. He also played for the Admirals during the 2009-10 season.

Prior to his professional experience, the 6-2 Pickard played for the Tri-City Americans in the WHL for four seasons. Pickard was a first round selection, 18th overall, by the Nashville Predators in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Pickard has 104 North American professional games on his resume with a 2.82 goals against average and .890 save percentage. His record stands at 38-46-9 in 5,700 minutes played.
