General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today the Edmonton Oilers have assigned center Josh Green and left-winger Teemu Hartikainen to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Green, 34, was recalled Tuesday and played three games with Edmonton. He has also played 19 games this season with the Barons recording 17 points (7G, 10A). The 6'3", 215-pound center has appeared in 337 NHL games for eight different teams, scoring 74 points (35G, 39A).

Green's career includes a previous stint with the Oilers from 2000-2003 where he played 81 games, recording 17 points (10G, 7A). Green was signed as a free agent in the offseason after spending last season with the Anaheim Ducks.

Hartikainen, 21, has played 23 games this season with the Barons recording 15 points (8G, 7A). In 89 career AHL games, the Kuopio, Finland native has 57 points (25G, 32A).

The 6'1", 215-pound winger has five points (3G, 2A) in 15 career NHL games with the Oilers.

Hartikainen was selected by Edmonton in the 6th round, 163rd overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

The Barons take on Hamilton tomorrow at 2 pm (ct).  Green and Hartikainen will not join the team in Hamilton.
