OILERS ASSIGN MAGNUS PAAJARVI TO OKC

The Edmonton Oilers assigned forward Magnus Paajarvi to the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

Paajarvi, a 6-2, 204-pounder from Norrkoping, Sweden, was recalled by Edmonton on February 6. In 41 games with the Oilers this season, he has six points (2-4-6).  The Oilers 1st round selection (10th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, he has played 14 games with the Barons this season, scoring 10 points (1-9-10).  He has played in 121 NHL games, scoring 42 points (17-25-42).

The Barons continue their six-game stretch away from the Cox Convention Center starting Friday in Peoria against the Rivermen at 7 p.m.  Saturday, the Barons take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 6 p.m., followed by a Sunday afternoon game against the Chicago Wolves at 4 p.m.  All three games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
