RINGWALD RELEASED FROM HIS PTO; ASSIGNED TO STOCKTON
By Josh Evans, OKC BaronsThe Oklahoma City Barons released Dan Ringwald from his PTO and assigned him to the Stockton Thunder, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today.
Ringwald, a 6-2, 190-pounder from Oakville, Ontario returns to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL where he has played 10 games, scoring six points (1-5-6). With Oklahoma City, he has appeared in seven games, registering two assists. He is expected to be in the lineup for the Thunder tonight when they take on the Idaho Steelheads in Stockton, Calif.
The second-year pro skated with Stockton last season, recording 23 points (1-22-23) in 61 games. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at the Rochester Institute of Technology where he 123 points (21-102-123) in 146 games. Ringwald attended the Barons training camp in early October.
Saturday night is the Barons final home game before Christmas. The team is giving hats and hams in advance of the Christmas holiday. The first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive a Barons Santa hat. Season Seat Holders need not wait in that line. ALL Season Seat Holders will receive the one-of-a-kind Santa hat.
Following the game, fans will have a chance to come down to the ice and shoot a puck into an empty net. Fans who are successful will win a certificate for a ham from Schwab Meat Co.
Saturday’s home game against the Houston Aeros is a battle for first place in the Western Division. The Barons and Aeros have the two best records in the AHL and are separated by just one point. Tickets start at $10 and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets. Faceoff is at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.
