OILERS RECALL ALEX PLANTE FROM THE BARONS

The Edmonton Oilers recalled defenseman Alex Plante from the Oklahoma City Barons Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

This marks the second time this week Plante has been recalled by Edmonton.  He was recalled by the Oilers November 22 and played in the Oilers 6-2 win over the Nashville Predators. He was then returned to the Barons and played November 25 in their 5-4 win over Grand Rapids.
 
Plante, a 6-4, 230-pounder from Brandon, Manitoba has played in nine NHL games, recording two assists. He has played in 18 games, recording five assists and 50 penalty minutes. Plante is expected to join the Oilers in advance of their game tonight against the Colorado Avalanche at 6 p.m. (ct).

Tonight, the Barons take on the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. (ct). Sunday, the Barons return to Grand Rapids for a 4 p.m. (ct) game with the Griffins.  Both games can be heard on the flagship station for Barons Hockey, 96.1 KXY and online at sportsjuice.com.
