The Oklahoma City Barons, American Hockey League affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, received a preview of their schedule with the release of six additional home dates for their 2012-13 campaign.

The Barons will open their 38-game home schedule October 19 at the Cox Convention Center.  In addition to the home opener, the Barons will play at home November 2 and 3, December 15 and January 18 and 19. These dates are in addition to the Barons home game slated for November 13, which has been designated as School Field Trip Day.

Each AHL member club recevies six guaranteed home dates in advance of the release of the complete schedule. Opponents for these dates are not known until the release of the complete schedule later this summer.

“We are now able to assign our strategy for promotions and entertainment to these seven dates,” said Bob Funk Jr., CEO of Prodigal LLC.  “We are glad to be able to provide these dates to our fans so quickly after our deep playoff run.”

A variety of ticket packages are available to meet every individual or group need.  Packages ranging from 7-game and 11-game packs to Full Season Seats are available.  Call the Barons’ front office at 405-232-4625 for information on groups, Season Seats and other ticket packages.

The 2012-13 AHL schedule will begin October 12, with each team playing 76-games.  The American Hockey League continues to serve as the top development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams. More than 87 percent of all players competing in the NHL are AHL graduates.
