OILERS RETURN ALEX PLANTE TO THE BARONS

The Edmonton Oilers returned defenseman Alex Plante to the Oklahoma City Barons, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today.

Plante was recalled by the Oilers November 26 prior to Edmonton's game against the Colorado Avalanche. That marks the third recall by the Oilers this season. Plante, a 6-4, 230-pounder from Brandon, Manitoba has played in nine NHL games, recording two assists.
 

He returns to the Barons where he has played in 18 games, recording five assists and 50 penalty minutes. Plante will join the Barons in Grand Rapids, Mich. in advance of their contest with the Griffins later today.

Tonight, the Barons take on the Grand Rapids Griffins at 4 p.m. (ct).  The game can be heard on the flagship station for Barons Hockey, 96.1 KXY and online at sportsjuice.com.
