The Oklahoma City Barons games against the San Antonio Rampage the weekend of December 14 and 15 feature a holiday theme.

For the game December 14, the Barons are giving fans an opportunity to check one item off of their list for their holiday feast: The Ham. Following the game, fans will be allowed to come on the ice for their chance to shoot a puck into an empty net. Successful shooters will earn a certificate for an 8 – 10 pound ham from Schwab Meats. The certificates are redeemable at Schwab Meat Company at 1111 Linwood Boulevard until December 21.

That night fans also have the opportunity to bid on trees decorated by the players. Each player was given a tree and asked to decorate it based on their likes and styles. Funds raised in the bids go to benefit the Barons Buddies Program with Special Olympics. A total of 25 trees are available. Friday, December 14, 12 trees are available for bids, while the remaining 13 are available for bids on Saturday, December 15.

Saturday, December 15 kicks the holiday season into high gear. That night’s game features over 500 children from local elementary school choirs singing holiday carols during the intermissions as part of the Barons second annual Sing for Santa event. December 15 is also Barons Scarf Night. The first 2,000 fans through the doors receive a Barons scarf.

The Barons annual Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by Chesapeake Energy, America’s Champion of Natural Gas takes place December 15. Fans are asked to bring new or gently loved stuffed animals to the game. When the Barons score their first goal against the Rampage, the fans will be asked to throw their stuffed animals toward the ice. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to EMSA for use in breaking the ice with children who have been involved in a traumatic incident.

Finally, the Barons Drive Away Every Saturday promotion gives one lucky fan at each Saturday home game an opportunity to drive away in a brand new car. The car slated for giveaway on December 15 is a Jeep Wrangler.

Faceoff for both games that weekend against the San Antonio Rampage is 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. A variety of ticket packages are available to meet every individual or group need. Packages ranging from 7-game and 11-game packs to Full Season Seats are available. Call the Barons’ front office at 405-232-4625 for information on group outings, Season Seats and other ticket packages.
