The Oklahoma City Barons signed forward Mario Lamoureux to a PTO, General Manager Bill Scott announced today.

Lamoureux, a 5-9, 180-pounder from Grand Forks, North Dakota played last season with the Ontario Reign of the ECHL, scoring 65 points (25-40-65) in 71 games.  His 40 assists and 65 points were both good for second on the team.  His 65 points was the top point total among ECHL rookies during the 2012-13 season.  With Ontario this season, he has three goals in four games.

Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at the University of North Dakota.  With the Fighting Sioux, he scored 46 points (17-29-46) and served 228 penalty minutes in 148 games.  Before playing collegiately, Lamoureux played four seasons with the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League.  In 236 games over four seasons with the Storm, he amassed 129 points (44-85-129) and served 454 penalty minutes.

Oklahoma City returns home this weekend with a pair of games against the Chicago Wolves. Puck drop both nights is 7 p.m. CT at the Cox Convention Center. Friday night is Barons Night with $2 beers and $1 hot dogs. Saturday night is Drive Away Every Saturday where one fan will drive away in a brand-new Hyundai Elantra.
