COMBS ACQUIRED BY BARONS; PINIZZOTTO ACQUIRED OILERS

The Oklahoma City Barons have acquired forward Jack Combs from the San Antonio Rampage in exchange for forward Derek Nesbitt. In a separate transaction, the Edmonton Oilers have acquired forward Steve Pinizzotto from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Ryan Martindale.
Combs, a 5-11 right winger from St. Louis, Mo., has played in 115 career AHL games between the Rampage, Bridgeport Sound Tigers, Worcester Sharks, Chicago Wolves and Peoria Rivermen. Combs has 66 points in the AHL (33-33-66) and 58 penalty minutes. He played his 100th career AHL game on Oct. 18, 2013.
Combs started his professional career with the ECHL’s Alaska Aces during the 2009-10 season. In 233 professional games played, Combs has 102 goals and 99 assists for 201 points.
Pinizzotto, a 6-1 center from Mississauga, Ontario, appeared in 21 games for the Rampage this season, scoring six goals and one assist with 67 penalty minutes. Pinizzotto has previously played for the Chicago Wolves and Hershey Bears. He won back-to-back Calder Cups with the Bears in 2009-10 and again in 2010-11.
Pinizzotto has appeared in 12 NHL games with the Vancouver Canucks and Florida Panthers. His professional totals include 313 games played with 63 goals and 97 assists for 159 points. Pinizzotto also has 577 penalty minutes during that span. He has scored 20 points (11-9-20) in 64 career professional playoff games.
Nesbitt appeared in 38 games for Oklahoma City this year with 10 goals and nine assists. Martindale played 79 games for the Barons over the last three seasons, registering nine goals and 17 assists.
The Barons are home this weekend for a three-game set. Oklahoma City faces Rochester Friday evening at 7 p.m. before taking on the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 4 p.m.
