All three Oklahoma City Youth Hockey Association teams that were competing in the USA Hockey national tournaments advanced to the finals of their respective divisions.

The 12-and-under team skated in Reston, Virginia and advanced to the championship by defeating the team from Delaware 7-3.  In the finals, they lost the Nashville Jr. Predators by the score of 5-2.  This marks the second straight year the Oklahoma team representing the 12-and-under age group played in the finals.  Click here for boxscore
In Wayne, New Jersey, the 14-and-under team defeated the Utah Jr. Grizzlies 5-4 in overtime to advance to the championship game against the Idaho Jr. Steelheads.  Barons assistant coach Rocky Thompson’s son Tyr had an assist on the game-winner in overtime.  In the championship game, the squad from Idaho bested the team from Oklahoma 6-1.  Click here for boxscore

The 18-and-under team skated in Lansing, Michigan and downed the Columbia (South Carolina) Cyclones 3-2 to advance to the Finals.  In the finals, they defeated the Junior Hurricanes from North Carolina by the score of 3-1.  Barons head coach Todd Nelson’s son Colton plays on the 18-and-under squad and picked up an assist in the championship game.  Click here for boxscore

The boxscores are available by clicking here.  The Oklahoma City Oil Kings play in the Youth Tier 2 age groups.
The Barons return home to take on the Hamilton Bulldogs, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, Tuesday.  The weekend concludes with home games Friday and Saturday.  Friday, the Barons tangle with the Peoria Rivermen, AHL affiliate of the St. Louis Blues.  Saturday, the Chicago Wolves, AHL affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks, visit Oklahoma City.  All three games start at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.  All three games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
