THREE OKCYHA TEAMS COMPETING FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

Three Oklahoma City Youth Hockey Association teams are competing for national championships are different sites across the United States.

Each team representing Oklahoma won their local qualifying tournament to earn a berth in the USA Hockey National tournaments.  The 12-and-under team is skating in Reston, Virginia, the 14-and-under team is skating in Wayne, New Jersey and the 18-and-under team is skating in Lansing, Michigan.  Last year, the 12-and-under team won their national championship.

The Barons take another step toward clinching a playoff spot in the Calder Cup playoffs in two road games this weekend.  Friday, they take on the Milwaukee Admirals, AHL affiliate of the Nashville Predators, at 7 p.m.  Saturday, they finish their season series with the Grand Rapids Griffins, AHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings.  Faceoff is 6 p.m.  Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
