In continued preparation for the 11-12 hockey season, the Oklahoma City Barons held auditions for their contingent of Ice Girls Saturday morning at the Gold’s Gym location in Edmond.

Twenty-two girls attended the audition, displaying a variety of skills, talents and personalities. After answering questions from the six judges, the prospective Ice Girls were given one minute to display a special talent, dance or tell a story that set them apart from the other candidates.

After the individual components of the auditions were complete, the girls began the group portion of the audition to evaluate their teamwork, creativity and imagination.  The attendees were divided into groups and given the task of creating a 70-second performance to match the 70 seconds available for timeouts at Barons hockey games.

The group chosen will represent the Barons at hockey games during the season, and also at community events and external appearances. If you are interested in having the Barons Ice Girls attend your event, call the Barons office at 232-GOAL or email at

The Barons home opener is October 15 against the Texas Stars at
7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.  A wide variety of ticketing options ranging from full Season Seats to 21, 11 and seven-game mini packs are available.  For more information about seats, call 232-GOAL.
