OILERS ASSIGN ANTON LANDER TO OKLAHOMA CITY

Oklahoma City – The Edmonton Oilers assigned forward Anton Lander to the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

Lander, a 20-year old from Sundsvall, Sweden, was the Oilers 2nd round draft choice in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.  With Edmonton this season, he has recorded six points (2-4-6) in 56 games.

Prior to turning pro, the 6-0, 194-pounder played four seasons with Timira IK in the Swedish Elite League.  In 177 games, he recorded 55 points (23-32-55).  He represented Sweden three times at the IIHF World Junior Championships.  Lander will join the Barons early next week in Oklahoma City.

The Barons finish their season series with the Charlotte Checkers tonight from the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. (ct).  The game can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
