BARONS SWINGING HAMMERS FOR HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ON OCTOBER 30

The Oklahoma City Barons players, coaches and front office staff members are working with Habitat for Humanity to begin the framework for a home at their Los Rosa Area on Tuesday, October 30.

The office staff begins the project the morning of October 30 at 8:30 a.m. and will work until approximately noon. Following lunch, the players and coaching staff will take over and work from 1 – 3 p.m. The Barons work on this particular project includes framing the home and interior painting the house in approximately six weeks.

Habitat for Humanity’s Los Rosa Area is located at SE 26th and Lindsay Ave. The address for the building location is 516 SE 26th Street, approximately a mile west of I-35 and SE 25th Street.

 
“Both the hockey operations and our front office staff enjoyed the process last season,” said Prodigal LLC owner Bob Funk Jr.  “We utilize the theme of Building in our marketing efforts and this is a wonderful opportunity for our organization to work on a project from start to finish and help provide a family a home.”

Oklahoma City is in the midst of a season long seven-game homestand. The Barons skate in two games this weekend against the Houston Aeros at the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m.
Friday, is Faith and Family Night with the Barons. The first 2,000 fans through the doors receive a one-of-a-kind Barons Faith t-shirt. Saturday, the Barons are giving away the third of 12 cars on the season. The winner of the car Saturday night drives away in a Jeep, courtesy of the Barons and John Vance Auto Group. 
 
Saturday, the Barons and their fans will help determine the outcome of the upcoming Presidential election. The Barons have ordered Presidential Candidate bobbleheads. The team has 1,500 Barack Obama bobbleheads holding a hockey stick left handed and 1,500 Mitt Romney bobbleheads holding a hockey stick right handed. Barons fans planning on voting for Obama area asked to go in the main entrance to the left, while fans planning on voting for Romney are asked to go in the main entrance to the right.

A variety of ticket packages are available to meet every individual or group need. Packages ranging from 7-game and 11-game packs to Full Season Seats are available. Call the Barons’ front office at 405-232-4625 for information on group outings, Season Seats and other ticket packages.
