The Edmonton Oilers assigned forward Linus Omark to the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers general manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

Omark, a 5-9, 168-pounder from Overtornea, Sweden has appeared in five games for the Oilers this season. Omark played in 28 games with the Barons last season, scoring 14 goals and adding 17 assists in that span. He played in all six of OKC's playoff games and had one goal and two assists.   
The Oilers 4th round draft choice (97th overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, saw time in 51 NHL games last year, scoring 5 goals with 22 assists.
The Barons have a pair of games in Abbotsford, B.C. this Thursday and Saturday.  Faceoff is set for 9 p.m. (ct) against the Heat, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames.
