The next time Oklahoma City Barons fans visit the Cox Convention Center, the team shop will have a new name.  The Barons team shop located inside the Cox Convention Center will be called The Edge.

The Oklahoma City Barons asked their most loyal fans for their suggestions for the name of the store and they responded as they always do.  Barons fans suggested over 400 different names for the store.

As incentive for suggesting names, the Barons offered a $500 shopping spree in the newly named store.  Derek James was the winner for suggesting the name The Edge.

“Thanks to our most loyal fans for again assisting us with this project,” said executive vice president of sales and marketing John Allgood.  “We take pride in our merchandise selection and the name chosen reflects our quest for excellence in our brand.  The suggestions we received were quite creative and made the decision process difficult.  Thanks to Derek James for the submission of the name The Edge.”

The Barons travel this week to Abbotsford, B.C. to take on the Heat this Thursday and Saturday.  Faceoff for both games is 9 p.m. (ct).  The Abbotsford Heat are the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames.
