ROY ASSIGNED TO OKC; DECK RECALLED FROM STOCKTON

The Edmonton Oilers assigned goaltender Olivier Roy to the Oklahoma City Barons from the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL. In a separate transaction, the Barons recalled defenseman Nathan Deck from Stockton.
Roy, a 6-0, 170-pounder from Amqui, Quebec appeared in 22 games with the Barons during the regular season, posting a 9-9-1 record, 2.77 goals against average and .902 saves percentage. With Stockton during the regular season, he appeared in nine games, posted a 7-2-0 record, 1.21 goals against average, .961 saves percentage and one shutout. The Oilers 5th round draft choice (133rd overall) continued his solid play in the postseason. He led the Thunder to their first ever ECHL Kelly Cup Finals appearance. He appeared in 22 games for Stockton, posting a 12-9-0 record, 2.81 goals against average, .911 save percentage.
Deck, a 5-11, 185-pounder from Sedley, Saskatchewan appeared in 33 games with the Barons during the regular season and scored eight points (1-7-8). Before joining the Barons, the 22-year old amassed 43 points (12-31-43) in 79 games with the Stockton Thunder over two seasons. He joined the Thunder for their Kelly Cup playoff run and scored four points (1-3-4) in eight postseason games.
The Barons host Games 3, 4 and 5 of the Western Conference Finals beginning tonight against the Grand Rapids Griffins.
