The Oklahoma City Barons have signed forward Alex Lavoie to a professional tryout contract, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today.  Lavoie scored his first career AHL goal on March 21 at Texas. He has appeared in seven games for the Barons the season.

Lavoie has appeared in 60 games for the Allen Americans this season, collecting 25 goals and 51 assists for a total of 76 points. He was named the 2013-14 CHL Rookie of the Year.

Prior to turning pro, Lavoie played five seasons in the Quebec Major Junior League with Chicoutimi, Cape Breton and Rimouski.

Oklahoma City is back in action this weekend with a two-game set against the Charlotte Checkers. Saturday night’s contest is set for 7 p.m. CT, while Sunday afternoon’s game is at 4 p.m. CT.
