The Barons road game February 9 against the Abbotsford Heat, AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames, will be played at the ScotiaBank Saddledome in Calgary.  That marks the second straight season the Barons, the top affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers will play Abbotsford in Calgary.

“We believe this will be a very exciting year for our team and our fans with the addition of the Charlotte Checkers and one of the most historic teams in professional hockey in the Rochester Americans,” said Barons general manager Bill Scott. “Also, the elimination of sequences where teams play four games in five nights should give our players more energy every night and help to prevent injuries.  Our staff and players are looking forward to building on our success last year as we set the bar higher both on the ice and in the community.
