BARONS HOSTING ALL STAR GAME WATCH PARTY
By Josh Evans, OKC BaronsThe Oklahoma City Barons are hosting a watch party for the American Hockey League All Star Classic, at Buffalo Wild Wings on NW Expressway.
The AHL All Star Classic will be played January 30 inside Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. (ct). The Oklahoma City Barons will be represented by four members of their team. Head coach Todd Nelson will be joined by goaltender Yann Danis, defenseman Alex Plante and forwards Philippe Cornet and Ryan Keller. Cornet and Plante were voted starters by the fans.
Joe Beninati, a former broadcaster for the AHL’s Maine Mariners and Providence Bruins and now the TV voice of the Washington Capitals for the past 18 seasons, will handle play-by-play duties for the All-Star Classic. Alongside him will be analyst Craig Laughlin, former AHL and NHL winger and longtime TV analyst for the Capitals. Rounding out the on-air crew will be former AHL player and coach and current Comcast SportsNet studio analyst Alan May. The television production will be led by Comcast SportsNet’s Emmy Award-winning executive producer Bill Bell.
Sportsnet will carry the AHL All-Star Classic live through all four of its broadcast regions across Canada. The league’s showcase event can also be seen this year on more than 25 regional networks in the United States including FoxSports Southwest.
The starters for the AHL All Star Classic are being determined by the fans. Vote for your favorite players by logging on AHL’s website. Voting ends January 23. One lucky winner will receive an AHL All Star Classic jersey autographed by all the AHL All Stars.
