The Edmonton Oilers, parent club of the Oklahoma City Barons selected six players at the 2014 NHL Entry Draft at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia. 

With their first selection, the third overall pick, the Oilers selected ceneterman Leon Draisaitl.  The 6-1, 209-pounder has played that last two seasons with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League, scoring 163 points in 128 games. 

The Oilers didn’t pick again until the fourth round when they chose Swedish defenseman William Lagesson. In the fourth round, the Oilers selected University of Michigan goaltender Zachary Nagelvoort with the 111th overall pick.  With their fifth round selection, Edmonton selected Vernon Vipers (BCJHL) forward Liam Coughlin.  The sixth round selection was used to pick center Tyler Vesel from the Omaha Lancers (USHL).  The Oilers final selection in the draft came in the seventh round and they chose Val D’Or goaltender Kevin Bouchard.

The next key date for the Oilers is the NHL free agency period which starts July 1.

Season tickets for the Barons 2014-15 season are available now.  With the help of their fans, the Barons altered their seating map and pricing structure.  Every seat in the upper bowl is now $10, while fans in the lower bowl can enjoy the same pricing from the Barons first season.
