SEVERAL FORMER BARONS TAKE PART IN JOEY MOSS CUP GAME IN EDMONTON
By Josh Evans, OKC BaronsWith the first days of Edmonton Oilers training camp underway, the players skated yesterday afternoon in the annual Joey Moss Cup game. Twelve players who played significant time or finished the season with the Barons skated in the game.
On team Blue were forwards Linus Omark, Ryan O’Marra and Philippe Cornet along with defensemen Taylor Chorney, Alex Plante and Taylor Fedun. Team white forwards Teemu Hartikainen, Chris VandeVelde and Tanner House were joined by defensemen Martin Marincin, Brandon Davidson and Jeff Petry.
Petry opened the scoring for Team White with a first period goal. Cornet answered with his own first-period goal for team Blue. Teemu Hartikainen knotted the score at two with a second period goal. In the third, Tanner House scored the only goal of the period for Team White, a nifty wrist shot past goaltender Olivier Roy. Ryan O’Marra assisted on the eventual game-winning goal.
Team Blue went on to win the game 5-3. The Oilers will continue their camp activity tomorrow in preparation for their first preseason games Tuesday night.
