MOVEMBER WRAPPING UP FOR BARONS
By Josh Evans, OKC Barons
For the month of November, members of the Oklahoma City Barons have had a new look. Nearly two-thirds of the team donned mustaches to enhance their look as part of Movember. For the month of Movember, the team is uniting for a different cause. Movember was started in Australia in 2003 as a way to promote men’s health. Since that time, Movember has turned into a global health movement to raise awareness and funds for cancers that impact men. In 2009, Movember raised over $42 million around the world with over 1 million donors.
Led by Barons centerman Colin McDonald, select Barons players and staff grew mustaches in support of Movember. Fans are encouraged to grow a mustache of their own or may participate by donating on behalf of the Barons. Visit movember.com/donate to learn more about the month-long endeavor or make a donation.
