RAMPAGE DROP BARONS 6-1 IN TRIP OPENER

Six different San Antonio players scored as the Rampage defeated the Oklahoma City Barons 6-1 in a field trip matinee on Tuesday at the AT&T Center.
The Barons (7-8-0-2) fall to 2-2-0-1 against San Antonio this season. The Barons continue a stretch of five straight road games with contests on Thursday (6 pm CST) and Friday (6:30) in Cleveland against the Lake Erie Monsters.
San Antonio improves to 8-8-0-1 and 6-3-0-0 at home. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom stopped 36 of 37 Barons shots in winning for the second time in three AHL outings this season. Both Oklahoma City goalies saw action. Tyler Bunz (1-1-1) started and allowed the first four goals for the loss, making 22 saves. Laurent Brossoit, recently acquired in trade from the Calgary Flames’ organization, made his Barons and Oilers organization debut, entering with the score 4-0 in the second period. Brossoit stopped 10 of 12 shots.
San Antonio’s Joey Crabb opened the scoring at 3:41 of the first period, putting in a rebound from the side of the net. Jed Ortmeyer followed with a deflection off a Vincent Trocheck faceoff win at 12:07. Trocheck, who has tallied nine of his 18 points against the Barons this season, made it 3-0 after one with a rebound goal, his team-high ninth.
Eric Selleck shoved home a rebound of a Jared Gomes wraparound to make the score 4-0 at 6:42 of the second. Gomes set up Quinton Howden at the doorstep at 16:57 to make the score 5-0, but Martin Marincin tallied his first of the season 30 seconds later off a nifty setup my Matthew Ford to make it 5-1 at the second intermission.
Bobby Butler completed the scoring on an assist from Trocheck with 37 seconds remaining in the game. The Barons rallied to out-shot the Rampage 27-16 over the final two periods, but San Antonio had the shot edge for the game 38-37.
