The Oklahoma City Barons fell in a shootout to the Charlotte Checkers, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon at Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C., falling in a shootout to the Checkers for the second straight game. John Muse earned the win for Charlotte after replacing Mike Murphy in the net in the 2nd period.

The Barons started out strong, and opened up the scoring at 3:33 of the 1st as Taylor Fedun put the puck past Murphy from the point. Steve Pinizzotto and Will Acton were credited with the assists on the goal.

Just 70 seconds later, the Checkers would answer, as Victor Rask beat Richard Bachman up high to tie the game 1-1 at 4:23 of the 1st.

Oklahoma City’s two-goal lead was short-lived as Zach Boychuk cut the lead to 4-3, just 1:25 later at 9:31 of the period.

Less than a minute later, Jared Stall tied the game once again, beating Bachman glove-side at 10:24 of the 2nd to make it a 4-4 affair.
