WILD BLANK BARONS 1-0 IN FRANCHISE OPENER

Johan Gustafsson made 27 saves in his first North American professional start as the Iowa Wild opened their season and franchise with a 1-0 win over the Oklahoma City Barons on Saturday at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.
Oklahoma City drops to 0-3 on the season, the first time in their four AHL seasons the Barons have been held without a standing point in their first three games.
The Wild, formerly the Houston Aeros, scored the game's only goal 7:06 into the second period. Brett Bulmer converted a 2-on-1, with assists to Jason Zucker and Chad Rau.
It marked the third regular-season 1-0 loss in Barons history and the first by a team other than the San Antonio Rampage. Richard Bachman made 28 saves in falling to 0-3 on the young season.
