The Edmonton Oilers officially ushered in the 2013-14 season Thursday with the team’s first on-ice session at Millennium Place in Sherwood Park. Head Coach Dallas Eakins and staff split the team into three groups. Players with Oklahoma City Barons connections at the camp include Mark Arcobello, Brandon Davidson, Curtis Hamilton, Martin Marincin, Ryan Martindale, Tyler Pitlick, Taylor Fedun and C.J. Stretch.

Also present are Cameron Abney, Anton Lander and Joey Leach. Linus Omark also returned to the ice as a member of the Oilers after playing for EV Zug in Switzerland last year. Omark played for the Barons during the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

Matthew Ford, Austin Fyten and Derek Nesbitt, who all signed AHL contracts with the Barons this offseason, are attending the camp. The full Oilers camp roster can be viewed here.

Oklahoma City begins its training camp on Sunday, September 22 and the regular season begins on Friday, October 4. Hockey season officially gets underway in Oklahoma City on Friday, September 27 with the NHL Showcase, a NHL preseason game between the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars.
