OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City goaltender Yann Danis turned away 26 shots and registered his fourth shutout of the season as the Barons blanked the San Antonio Rampage 3-0 Thursday evening at the Cox Convention Center. The Barons (30-11-2-3) became the first AHL team to reach 30 wins this season and extended their win streak to a franchise-best seven games. The win snapped the Rampage’s (24-19-2-0) seven-game win streak.

Magnus Paajarvi
connected with Hunter Tremblay at 19:02 of the first period to give the Barons a 1-0 lead. Paajarvi’s pass and Tremblay’s subsequent goal were highlight worthy as Tremblay moved into second on the team with 11 goals this year. Paajarvi connected for his ninth assist, and Mark Arcobello was awarded a secondary assist, his 18th of the year.

Oklahoma City added its second goal at 19:35 of the second period while on the power play to go up 2-0 at the second intermission. Ryan Keller faked his initial shot and weaved past the defense to snipe his team-leading 16th goal of the year. Josh Green prolonged his point streak to seven games with an assist on Keller’s goal.

The Barons capitalized off a 2-on-1 late in the game to go up 3-0 as Antti Tyrvainen found Ryan O’Marra coming in from the left side for the insurance goal. It was O’Marra’s eighth of the year and sealed Oklahoma City’s seventh straight win.

By going 1-for-4 on the power play, Oklahoma City has now scored a goal with the man advantage in four straight games and five of the last six contests.

The Barons close out a four-game homestand Friday evening against the Charlotte Checkers at 7 p.m. CT inside the Cox Convention Center.
