Balanced offence helps AHL squad cope with calls from Oilers for injury replacements
EDMONTON - From a team perspective, things could hardly be going better for the Oklahoma City Barons. As the calendar turned into February, Todd Nelson’s squad had widened its lead over division rivals Houston Aeros and Abbotsford Heat, while remaining first overall in the American Hockey League. Heading into a weekend doubleheader with the Heat — Thursday night in Calgary and Saturday on the lower mainland — the Barons had posted an impressive 30-12-5 mark.
