The Edmonton Oilers dropped a 7-2 decision to the Winnipeg Jets at the 2013 Young Stars Classic Saturday evening at the South Okanagan Events Centre in Penticton, British Columbia. Four players with ties to the Oklahoma City Barons played in the contest: defensemen Joey Leach, Martin Marincin and Brandon Davidson and forward Austin Fyten.

Marincin assisted on Greg Chase’s power play goal at 16:59 of the third period. Marincin also registered two shots on goal. Davidson wore the captain’s C for the game and registered one shot on goal. Fyten led all Oilers with five shots on goal, while Leach was just behind him with four. Fyten sat two minutes for tripping in the first period.

Edmonton’s final game of the 2013 Young Stars Classic is Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m. CT against the Vancouver Canucks. The game airs live on and is also available via the Oilers mobile app.

Hockey season begins in Oklahoma City when the Edmonton Oilers host the Dallas Starts in the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy on Friday, September 27 at the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m. CT. For more information about tickets, call the Barons office at 232-GOAL.
