OILERS TOP CANUCKS, 4-1

The Edmonton Oilers beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-1 on Wednesday night at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. Three players with connections to Oklahoma City played in the game: forwards Mark Arcobello and Tyler Pitlick and defenseman Martin Marincin.
Marincin posted a multi-point night from the blue line. The 6’5” 196 pounder assisted on Jordan Eberle’s opening goal of the game, and then added a goal of his own to put the Oilers up 2-0 at 7:07 of the first period.
Arcobello got on the scoresheet later in the period, assisting on Jesse Joensuu’s goal to put the Oilers 4-0 at 12:24 of the opening frame. He also registered three shots on goal during the game.
The Oilers continue preseason action Saturday evening against the Canucks at 9 p.m. CT, playing the first of three straight preseason home games. The Oilers close out the preseason on Friday, Sept. 27 against the Dallas Stars in the NHL Showcase presented by Mercy in Oklahoma City.
