BARONS DROP SECOND STRAIGHT ROAD GAME

For the first time this season, the Oklahoma City Barons have lost consecutive road games after the Texas Stars handed the Barons a 5-2 loss on Tuesday at Cedar Park Center outside Austin.

Oklahoma City (13-8-1-1) has dropped two of its first three games on the current five-game trip, which will take the Barons to Winnipeg for games on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm CST against the Manitoba Moose.

Greg Stewart opened the scoring for Oklahoma City at 6:03 of the first period, but Texas responded against starter Jeff Deslauriers with goals by Luke Gazdic, Travis Morin and Mathieu Tousignant to lead 3-1 after one. Liam Reddox made it 3-2 with a Barons goal at 9:26 of the second, joining Linus Omark for the team lead with 12 goals. The Stars led 4-2 after two on a goal by Colton Sceviour at 14:23.

Texas expanded its lead with a goal by Francis Wathier at 6:54 of the third to complete the scoring.

Deslauriers stopped 12 of 15 shots in the first period before being lifted in favor of Bryan Pitton. Deslauriers took the loss. Pitton stopped 19 of 21 shots in relief. Richard Bachman made 29 saves in net for Texas (13-8-0-0).

After the two games in Winnipeg, the Barons return home Dec. 7 against Houston at the Cox Convention Center at 7:05 p.m.
