The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender David LeNeveu to an American Hockey League contract, which means he will likely begin the 2011-2012 season with the Oklahoma City Barons.

LeNeveu has played 300 professional games since he was a second-round draft pick in 2002 by the Phoenix Coyotes. Most of his pro experience has been in the AHL, although he has played 22 games in the National Hockey League with either Phoenix or Columbus. LeNeveu (pronounced LEH-neh-voo) spent last season with the Springfield Falcons; he had a 16-21-2 record with a 2.97 goals against average.
