ALUMNI REPORT: BACHMAN SHINES IN DEBUT
By Cassie Gage,
Richard Bachman made 47 saves in the Edmonton Oilers' 2-1 shootout loss to the Los Angeles Kings Sunday evening at the Staples Center. It was Bachman’s season debut for the Oilers after being recalled earlier today.
Bachman turned away the 47 shots in regulation and denied Jeff Carter in the shootout, but goals from Mike Richards and Anze Kopitar secured the shootout win for the Kings. Jordan Eberle scored Edmonton’s lone shootout goal. Nail Yakupov had the regulation goal in the second period.
Anton Lander, also making his season debut with the Oilers, played 14 minutes, seven seconds and registered three hits, one block and one takeaway.
The Oilers are back in action Tuesday evening against the Toronto Maple Leafs at Rexall Place in Edmonton.
