FIRST PLACE BARONS HANG ON TO BEAT GRAND RAPIDS 5-4

Oklahoma City had three players who tallied three points Friday night, and the Barons hung on to beat Grand Rapids 5-4 in an American Hockey League game before 7,125 fans at Van Andel Arena.
Teemu Hartikainen and Curtis Hamilton had a goal and assist each, and Mark Arcobello added two assists. The Barons had a 5-2 lead with 11 minutes left in the game, but Grand Rapids rallied when Chris Conner had a power-play goal and Jamie Johnson added an even-strength score 4:05 apart. The Griffins pulled goaltender Tom McCollum for an extra attacker with less than a minute left, but the Barons hung on to win the first of a three-game road trip.
