ALUMNI REPORT: ARCOBELLO'S TWO GOALS LIFT OILERS TO OVERTIME WIN

Taylor Fedun and Mark Arcobello scored their first National Hockey League goals and Philip Larsen scored his first as an Edmonton Oiler in a 4-3 overtime win against the Florida Panthers Tuesday evening in Sunrise, Fla.

Larsen scored his first of the season at 16:59 of the first period to even the score at 1-1. Larsen’s first goal as an Oiler was assisted by Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Boyd Gordon.

Arcobello, who made the Oilers roster out of training camp, scored 2:06 into the second period. Arcobello’s first career NHL goal was assisted by Gordon and Ryan Jones and gave Edmonton a 2-1 lead.

Fedun, on his first NHL call-up, scored just 33 seconds later to give the Oilers a 3-1 lead. Fedun’s goal was assisted by Nugent-Hopkins and Jordan Eberle.

Panther Scottie Upshall scored back-to-back goals in the third period to force the overtime.

Arcobello got his second goal of the night with a power play one-timer 1:55 into the extra period to give the Oilers the 4-3 overtime win.

The Oilers are back in action Thursday evening against the Tampa Bay Lighting. Puck drop is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.
