Where: Blue Cross Arena, Rochester, N.Y.
Radio: KXXY-FM 96.1
Season series: Rochester leads 2-0-0-0

Scouting report: The Americans swept a two-game series Dec. 27-28 in Oklahoma City, beating the Barons by identical 4-3 scores. Rochester won the first game in overtime and the second in a shootout. The Buffalo Sabres recalled Rochester defensemen T.J. Brennan and Joe Finley on Thursday; the Americans had to go out and quickly find two replacements, and one of those was Brock Matheson, who plays for the Stockton Thunder of the East Coast Hockey League. Stockton often supplies the Barons with players when they're shorthanded. ... The Edmonton Oilers assigned defenseman Alex Plante to Oklahoma City on Thursday. Plante has been sidelined with Edmonton after suffering a concussion. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder had 11 points in 28 games for the Barons before the promotion to Edmonton.
