Ryan Keller stepped in front and tucked a close-in shot past Alec Richards with 7:15 remaining on Wednesday in the Barons' 5-4 win over Rockford at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

Richards had replaced Alexander Salak at the start of the third period after the Barons opened a 4-1 lead through two. Rockford tied the game with three unanswered goals in the third before Keller's game-winner upped the Barons' record to 11-4-0-1. Rockford fell to 5-8-1-0 and 1-6-0-0 at home.

Yann Danis earned the win in net with 32 saves.

The teams traded power play goals in the first period. Rockford scored first on the first goal of the season for Peter LeBlanc, set up in the high slot by Jeremy Morin at 8:06.

Oklahoma City countered on a two-man advantage at 13:54 when Linus Omark fed Teemu Hartikainen, who picked up his own rebound to slip it past Salak.

Hartikainen added an even-strength goal in the second period, followed by a power-play tally by Gilbert Brule and an even-strengther by Philippe Cornet to build a 4-1 edge.

Cornet is tied for the AHL lead with 11 goals.

Brandon Segal, Leblanc and Brandon Pirri tallied for the IceHogs in the third as the Barons won the first of a four-game season series with Rockford.

The Barons face the Abbotsford Heat on Friday and Saturday at the Cox Center at 7 pm CST.
