Oklahoma City Barons General Manager Bill Scott today announced the addition of Kevin Hanlon as Strength and Conditioning coach and Alan Oman as the Assistant Equipment Manager.

Hanlon joins the Barons staff after spending last hockey season working with Total Hockey Minnesota as one of their three lead coaches. During the offseason, he worked on the strength and conditioning for members of that program ranging from NHL-caliber players, collegiate players through every level of youth hockey. During the season, he worked with the Total Hockey Minnesota members on maintaining their programs as well as skills-based instruction. Prior to his work with Total Hockey Minnesota, Hanlon worked as the Strength and Conditioning coach for the Texas Stars. Hanlon is a graduate of the University of Texas with a Masters degree in Exercise Physiology.

Oman joins the Barons staff after spending the last season with the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League. A veteran of the equipment managing process, Oman worked for seven seasons with the Florida Everblades of the ECHL before working with Rio Grande Valley. While with Florida, he worked with Barons assistant coach Gerry Fleming.

Kevin is going to be a great fit for our hockey club.  He brings great experience having worked with the Dallas Stars organization and with former NHLer and fitness guru Gary Roberts,” said Scott. “Kevin will be responsible for our players conditioning programs off the ice as well as working the players through their rehab program after an injury.”

“Al is a young, up-and-coming equipment manager that we are excited to add to our staff.  He is very experienced both in the ECHL and CHL and we are looking forward to his contributions to our locker room.  Al will work hand in hand on a daily basis with Matt Mitchell and provide our players and coaches with excellent service.”

The Barons home opener is October 19 against the San Antonio Rampage at the Cox Convention Center at 7 p.m. A variety of ticket packages are available to meet every individual or group need. Packages ranging from 7-game and 11-game packs to Full Season Seats are available. Call the Barons’ front office at 405-232-4625 for information on group outings, Season Seats and other ticket packages.
