The Oklahoma City Barons are asking their fans to leave a little bit of energy in the tank for Sunday morning. Oklahoma City opens its Western Conference Quarterfinal series against the Charlotte Checkers on Friday with Game 2 on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center.

Why do fans need to leave a bit of energy in the tank? The Barons are hosting a water station at mile 18 of the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon. Members of the Barons staff, the Barons Ice Girls and their mascot Derrick the Mountain Lion will be there to help hydrate the runners and give them a boost as they head back toward downtown Oklahoma City.

Fans are welcome to join the Barons at the water station, but there are a few “requirements”. First, fans will want to wear one of their Barons shirts. Second, wear red socks in honor of those impacted by the events of the Boston Marathon. Last, bring a cow bell or some sort of noise maker to energize those running in the marathon.

The Barons water stop is located west of North May Avenue on Grand Boulevard. Approximate address is 3120 N. Grand Blvd.  Fans can arrive by 7 a.m. at the water stop.
