The Edmonton Oilers assigned goaltender Oliver Roy from the Oklahoma City Barons to the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL, Barons General Manager Bill Scott announced today.

Roy, a 6-0, 180-pounder from Amqui, Quebec was assigned to Oklahoma City December 17.  He served as the backup for the Barons two games against the Charlotte Checkers in Charlotte. 

Prior to this brief stint with the Barons, Roy has played the entire season with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL.  In 13 games with the Thunder, he has 4-6-1 record, 2.50 goals against average, .920 saves percentage and two shutouts.  Roy was selected in the 5th round (133rd overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.  Roy attended the Barons training camp in early October.

The Barons are off for a few days to celebrate the Holiday Season with their families.  The team returns to action next Tuesday and Wednesday against the Rochester Americans at the Cox Convention Center.  Faceoff for both games is 7 p.m. Tickets start at $10 and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets.
