BARONS AND CONDORS SWAP GOALTENDERS; RECALL MILLER
By Cassie Gage,
The Edmonton Oilers have reassigned goaltender Laurent Brossoit to the AHL’s Oklahoma City Barons from the ECHL’s Bakersfield Condors, General Manager Craig MacTavish announced today. In a separate transaction, the Oilers have reassigned goaltender Tyler Bunz to the Condors. The Barons also recalled forward Greg Miller.
Brossoit departs the ECHL leading the league in shutouts (7, one shy of matching the league record), while second in GAA (2.06) and tied for third in save percentage (.924) and wins (21). He went a combined 21-11-0 with Bakersfield and Alaska this season.
Brossoit is a three-time CCM/ECHL Goalie of the Week this season: Oct. 28-Nov. 2 (Alaska), plus Dec. 23-29 and Jan. 13-19 (Bakersfield). He was previously with the Barons Nov. 8-Dec.17 before being reassigned to Bakersfield. He went 2-4-0 in his first OKC stint with a 3.53 goals-against average and .885 save percentage.
Bunz has played in five games for the Barons this year with a 2-1-1 record. He had a 3.63 goals against average and .901 save percentage with Oklahoma City. He earned his first AHL win on Nov. 12 against San Antonio.
Miller has played in 11 games for Bakersfield since being acquired from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He has four goals and six assists for 10 points in that timeframe. Overall this season he has 48 points, scoring 17 goals and 21 assists with the Stockton Thunder.
Oklahoma City is back in action this weekend with a two-game set at the Texas Stars. Friday night’s contest is set for 7:30 p.m. CT, while Saturday’s game is at 7 p.m. CT.
